Happy Friday MHES families! Not too much to report this week. Starting to feel like Spring is around the corner. Have a wonderful weekend!

How do I check if my child’s school bus is running late?- You can check the status of any bus on OSTA's website under Current Bus Status and search by school.

Parking and drop off – We would like to remind parents to use the large loop beside the school when dropping off or picking up their children. You can also have a plan for your child to meet you if you park on one of the side streets. The daycare parking should not be used for this purpose. The parking lot is for daycare staff and those children that go to the daycare. We have been receiving complaints over the last few weeks over the unsafe situation the increase traffic has created. Our top priority is the safety of our students. We appreciate your cooperation.

Grade 6 Grad Wear-Grad Wear for Grade 6 students who have not ordered in the Fall is available to purchase until February 28th. Please go to https://ocdsb.schoolcashonline.com to create an account if you have not already done so.

Social Media Information-This website has great guides for parents on a variety of topics related to children and online activities including social media. https://nationalonlinesafety.com/guides

Language Learning Sans Frontieres -Due to ongoing labour action, the French immersion support evening Language Learning Sans Frontières will not be able to run as scheduled. There is no make-up date scheduled as of yet, but we will keep you posted as soon as we have a new date which will most likely be sometime in the spring. If you have any questions, please contact Mme Stairs at jessica.stairs@ocdsb.ca.

Toonie Tuesday -The Education Foundation has postponed Toonie Tuesday until further notice due to the Labour Action. We will be communicating updated information as soon as we know when this fundraiser is rescheduled. Despite the delay, we want to be sure to continue to support our most vulnerable students in the OCDSB.

We will be celebrating Pink Shirt Day on February 26th. Pink Shirt Day encourages everyone to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying. The theme of the campaign is Lift Each Other Up.

Lunch Program Updates-Pizza and Sub days for Term 1 are complete. The pizza and sub lunch programs for Term 2 have been postponed due to the ongoing labour action.  More information to come shortly. Refunds have been processed which you will be able to see on your bank or credit card statements over the next week.
